“Welcome to a visual journey through my life - capturing moments from a vibrant career, cherished family milestones, and the resilience faced during my health battles. Each pictures tells its own story, reflecting a chapter in the tapestry of experiences that have shaped who I am today.”
A Career in News
With a background in television news, Marilyn spent nearly 20 years as an anchor and reporter for CBS and NBC affiliates across the U.S.
“For years, I had the incredible privilege of working as a news anchor, a career that brought me immense joy and a deep sense of purpose. Every day was an adventure - delivering the stories that shaped our world, uncovering the truth with integrity, and giving a voice to those who needed to be heard. It was an honor and a responsibility I never took lightly.
That experience instilled in me values that continue to guide my mission today: honesty, connection, and the power of storytelling. Just as I once worked to inform and uplift my community through journalism, I now use my voice to inspire, advocate, and support those facing life’s toughest battles. Whether I’m speaking on stage, working with cancer patients, or sharing my journey, my goal remains the same - to bring truth, hope, and resilience to the forefront.
The setting may have changed, but my purpose has not. I am still here to tell the stories that matter, to amplify voices that need to be heard, and to make an impact in the lives of others.”

My Family
“Nothing in my life means more to me than my family. I was blessed to grow up as the baby of the family, guided by the love and strength of two incredible parents who shaped me into the person I am today. Their unwavering support and endless encouragement laid the foundation for the life I have built.
That foundation only grew stronger when I met my wonderful husband - the person who has stood beside me through every joy, challenge, and unexpected turn life has thrown our way. His love and strength shone incredibly during my breast cancer journey. He became my rock, my protector, and the steady hand that held mine through the darkest days. Whether it was sitting by my side at every appointment, making me laugh when I needed it most, or simply reminding me that we would get through it together, his love carried me forward.
Together, we have raised two extraordinary children, a son and daughter who continue to amaze me with their kindness, strength, and unique spirits. Watching them grow has been my greatest privilege and my proudest accomplishment.
Through every chapter of my journey -through love, loss, triumph, and hardship - family has been my anchor. They are my heart, my home, and my reason for everything I do.”
Although the journey has been beautiful, it hasn’t always been easy…
On October 28, 2010, I was diagnosed with breast cancer.
In so many ways, nothing would ever be the same…
My Breast Cancer Journey
“In 2010, my world changed with three words I never expected to hear: “You have cancer.” What followed was a journey I could have never imagined - one that tested me in every way possible. A double mastectomy, chemotherapy, radiation, and the life-threatening complications that came in their wake became part of my story. But so did resilience. So did love. So did the unwavering strength of my family and community, who carried me through the darkest days.
Today, I stand before you as a survivor - not just of cancer, but of everything it tried to take from me. I have to believe I was given this second chance for a reason. For me, my purpose is clear: to walk alongside others on their own cancer journeys, to remind them they are never alone, and to amplify the message that healing isn’t just about medicine - it’s about love, support, and the power of community.
I hope you’ll follow along as I continue this mission, sharing my story, lifting others up, and proving that even in life’s hardest battles, we can rise - together.”
